Attending Brooklyn College, D'Orazio studied painting and fine arts, as well as photography with Photo League member, Lou Bernstein. Since his first shoot for Italian Vogue in 1981, he has completed hundreds of assignments with the most important fashion magazines of our time, as well as for numerous commercial clients. In 1992 his short documentary film, Sammy, was accepted into the Venice Film Festival, and his 1994 music video for Guns 'n Roses ("Since I Don't Have You) quickly reached number one on MTV's most requested list. D'Orazio's photographs have been extensively shown throughout the world. sexy and vibrant campaigns he has produced for clients such as Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria's Secret, Revlon, and L'Oreal, D'Orazio's signature style - a unique blend of art and commerce - has become a mainstay of the fashion industry. Since the 1980s, the photographer has also worked editorially for numerous magazines including American Vogue, Esquire, Town & Country, Detour, Max, Interview and Vanity Fair.
