Motor City Madness, Hip Hop Style!
Detroit is rapidly earning its dues as a hip-hop Mecca. So it's only
natural that Hip Hop Immortals should land on that hallowed Motown
soil. With over 500 hip-hop fanatics making their way to the presidential
State Theater, the Detroit premier of Hip Hop Immortals We Got Your
Kids became the event of the year. Proof of D-12 fame was one of the
many who came out and represented for both the home-team and hip-hop
itself. Hypnotiq, as well as Courvoisier and our friends at Technology
all played a critical role in making this event the massive success
it became. Detroit may not be as large as LA or New York in square
miles or bodies, but the love of hip-hop burns as intensely there
as anyplace we've been and we'd like to thank the Motor City for being
such a gracious host.

Hello England! HHI Drives On The Wrong Side of the Road!
Hip
Hop Immortals has expanded its empire. The triumphant return to English
soil signaled a call to arms for hip-hop heads in Great Britain and
beyond. The Proud Galleries played host to the history-making event
that featured GZA, The Nextmen, Rodney P and Skitz, DJ Woody and Broke
‘n' English, and Roots Manuva among others. The backdrop of
hip-hop's most iconic photographs added to the one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
The crowd was an invite-only collection of die-hard fans and celebrity-tastemakers;
including Damon Dash, Jonathan Mannion, Jim Fiscus, and countless
others.
The party also acted as a celebration for Motorola and its new Push
To Talk technology. As the event's sponsor, Motorola worked tirelessly
to ensure the party and the exhibition itself shakes the foundation
of hip-hop culture.
The opening night was a perfect way to kick-off what will surely become
a landmark: the world's most comprehensive exhibit dedicated solely
to the images of hip-hop culture.

Hip Hop Immortals We Got Your Kids Crushes The Birth Place Of HipHop
With Help from the biggest club in the city CROBAR
and our friends Tommy Jeans
"There hasn't been a party that wild since the 80's!"
-Anonymous Partier
Pack it up. It's over. Only April and already the party-of-the-year
has come and gone. Those who were in attendance can share stories
of the night with the less fortunate but, really, it can't do the
event any real justice. You would've had to have been there to believe
3,000 people kept the party going well into the morning. It seems
impossible if you didn't see it with your own eyes. The world's premier
party DJ, Kid Capri, set the crowd on fire with a set that never let
up. Fabulous, Pharaohe Monch, Q Tip, Carl Thomas, P. Diddy and NFL
great Warren Sapp are among the celebrities who joined us for this
history-making event. Fittingly held at CroBar, the year's hottest
party was hosted at the City's hottest club. Tommy Jeans teamed up
with Hip Hop Immortals to level the borough of Manhattan and rebuild
it as a hip-hop utopia for one night. Thanks to all involved and if
you're lucky we'll see you at the next party!

Hip Hop Immortals hit Washington big time!
The
opening night was an atmospheric event that rocked the city. Photographers,
art critics, journalist and many more sipped wine, admired photographs,
and enjoyed a night of decadence at the prestigious Govinda gallery.
This was an occasion that will go down in Washington's history as
the event that sealed the marriage between Hip-Hop and High Art.

Going Back To Cali: Hip Hop Immortals Takes It to the West Coast
The
City Of Angeles becomes the City Of Immortals! To celebrate the release
of Hip Hop Immortals We Got Your Kids, we premiered the film February
12th in sunny Los Angeles. The esteemed Pacific Design Center acted
as our host, Hennessy is supplied the drinks, and the biggest names
in music, film, and sports had a chance to finally see what the buzz
is about. Boo Yaa TRIBE, Special Ed, Yukmouth, MC Lyte, and many more
took their stroll down the red carpet, while invitees from every walk
of life enjoyed the West Coast unveiling of hip-hop's most talked
about film.

"We're Taking On The Globe" HHI Returns to the Land of Tea
and Crumpets
Hip
Hop Immortals became part of the British Academy of Film & Television
Arts rich 50 year history. The prestigious school, devoted exclusively
to the crafts of film and video, held a London screening of Hip Hop
Immortals We Got Your Kids. The excitement surrounding HHIWGYK has
been building in the UK since last year's photography exhibition at
the Proud Gallery in Camden. It was evident during the screening that
these weren't just hip-hop fans watching the film; they were Hip Hop
Immortals fans. The audience reaction was definite and excited. Everyone
at the screening, ourselves included, was pleasantly surprised by
guest appearances from some of England's rising hip-hop stars. We
can't wait to get back on Her Majesty's soil and look forward to this
spring's return to The Proud Gallery with a completely new exhibition.
Cheers!

Meet The Press The
time finally came to share ourselves with the world. The November
20, 2003 press-only screening of Hip Hop Immortals We Got Your Kids
delivered laughs, moments of intensity, and more than enough conversation
fodder for the packed theatre at The Tribeca Grand Hotel.
Journalists from all manner of media were present at the invite-only
event; along with some of the faces from the film, all of whom were
seeing the final product for the first time. The response was more
than we could've asked for and we'd like to thank everyone for being
there.

Hip Hop Immortals Conquers Virgin Hip
Hop Immortals threw a Remix Edition book-signing
and film screening that quickly turned into a piece of hip-hop history.
Unbeknownst to the crowd gathered at Virgin, this was to be the public's
first preview of the We Got Your Kids film. With the movie looming
larger than life on the giant screen and scattered all over the store
on smaller televisions, Virgin Megastore ground to a halt. Transfixed
to the screens, event attendees and shoppers alike were welded in
place. That is, until the event started.
Grandmaster Caz of Cold Crush fame assumed DJ duties for half the
evening, setting the tone with a demonstration of true hip-hop know-how.
DP One took the turntables and kicked the party into the high gear
his sets are famous for. What happened next wasn't planned, but with
so much talent in one room perhaps we should have expected it. Grandmaster
Caz was joined by fellow Cold Crush Brother AD, Daddy-O of Stetsasonic,
Grandmaster Melle Mel of The Furious Five fame, Kool Moe Dee and others
in an epic MC session that took us from the 70's South Bronx to Midtown
2003. Bonz Malone couldn't stay behind the signing table and was soon
up in the action as well. Bringing another element all this gave celebrity
photographers Jonathan Mannion, Atsuko Tanaka, Ivery Serra, Ernie
Paniccioli and David Corio an opportunity to work on their day off.
We'd like to thank everyone that attended, all the artists, and Virgin
Megastore for hosting the event.
